B&B View
'Heaven inhabited by devils' Goethe.
But they are good devils those that live here if they have been able to recreate a mythical environment worthy of gods and nymphs of the noted Nereids. Our B&B is situated behind the mountain that dominates Positano, the rooms have panoramic views and represent a perfect match between modern efficiency, respect for the environment and local traditions. Our family have, for the longest time, been in the restaurant business and regard our welcoming nature to be our point of strength. Hospitality in fact, for us as for our ancestors, is the fulfilment to a duty, a vocation.

The Legend

In Greek mythology the Nereids were fifty nymphs of the sea, daughters of Nereus and Doris, each of them personified slow soft waves in the calm ocean and as they swam to the surface they brought the same calm and serenity to all those who enjoyed the depths of their abodes.
According to legend on the nights illuminated by the moon the nymphs together with the tritons danced and sang in the proximity of the coastline. Among the most famous nymphs were Thetis, mother of the glorious Achilles, Amphitrite wife of the god of the sea Poseidon and Galatea must be remembered, loved by the Cyclops Polyphemus.
In the collective imagination the island of Capri is identified as the 'land of the mermaids' and in the same instance Positano is the 'cradle of the Nereids'.
It is said that the nymphs chose Positano’s bay as their preferred abode for its crystal clear waters and excellent acoustics to echo the sweet sounds of the ocean, their song.
